The last days of holiday went by way too fast. After shark diving we headed to Aghulas. The reason we went here was because this area is where the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian Ocean meet up. We went to this exact point and it was beautiful! There was also a very large lighthouse there and we got to go to the top of it and look out over the two oceans. On our way to the top of the lighthouse we saw a picture that looked very familiar. As we looked closer we read that it was Grand Haven. We all could not believe that they would put a picture of a lighthouse in Grand Haven up in South Africa. After that we went wine tasting… and it was tasty! The Pinotage wine is delicious. It is a grape that is unique to South Africa and there is nothing like it.

After Aghulas we went to our Montagu. This was a beautiful city that was inside a massive mountain range. When we arrived in Montagu we went straight to a natural spring that formed from a mountain. It was a very relaxing day. Once we were all done with the natural springs we headed to our next backpackers place. This is where we slept. The residence was called De Bos and sounded amazing. However, we never expected what it actually was. We literally slept in horse stalls inside a barn! I never thought that I would sleep in a barn. It actually turned out to be very exciting especially when we saw a pet goat (Beatrice) just walking around everywhere. After the first night in the barn we took a tractor ride to the top of a mountain. The views from the ride were spectacular. Everything was going awesome until we got to the top of the mountatin. We looked over to the other mountains and saw a rain storm coming in. There was no avoiding it and on the way down we got completely drenched! Great experience though, there was no way you could not laugh about it. The last day in Montagu was on Easter Sunday and I was lucky enough to go to a Afrikaan Church. It was nice to be there on Easter and they even gave us all Easter chocolates.

Finally it was our last day of holiday and we drove to Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope. Again the views were unbelievable and we even got to see wild penguins at Boulder National Park.

Now the reason I named this “Where’s Our Teacher?” is because my teacher disappeared this whole week so I will be teaching all the classes. I am co-teaching with my colleagues and it has been great so far. It is a Geography class and the kids are loving every bit of it. I am also loving it and today was one of the happiest days here. I felt like a rockstar! The Kayamandi students are great and just want to learn. I am pumped to finish this week off and will be delivering all the letters from my Michigan students this week. The students here are so excited to receive and write back. Now I have to lesson plan for tommorow. I hope all is well back in the states.
