Holiday (March 25th – April 1st)

This was not actually on holiday but I thought I would share this. Right before holiday we went to a restaurant that let you pet cheetahs!

This was not actually on holiday but I thought I would share this. Right before holiday we went to a restaurant that let you pet cheetahs! I pet one of the cheetahs and I was scared the whole time. The cheetah actually got up while I was petting it and I had to get up and walk away from it so it wouldn’t get me. Scary moment.

The first place we visited was called Knysna (Nice-Na). We went to this city to visit the Featherbed National Forest. This is one of the only places in the world where sea horses live. We also got to hike in some of the woods which over looked the Indian Ocean. To get there we had to take a quick boat ride and docked at the edge of the park. The views were amazing and the rocky coast land was unbelievable. They said that they closed the straight down years ago because it was considered the most dangerous straight in the world. You cannot get your boat insured for this straight. Also on our way back from this forest the mist started to roll in from the Ocean. It reminded me of a scene from Pirates of the Caribbean!

The next destination was Addo National Park. This is where all the animals are. When we were there we saw Elephants, Lions, Hyenas, Kudu, Jakal, Zebra, Buffalo, Warthog (Pumbas), Meerkats, and many more! It was unreal to see these animals in the wild. Scary at points too. One time we rolled up next to some elephants. We though all was well until they started getting very close. Our driver quickly turned on the car and we were being chased by Elephants! So much fun. Not only were the animals very fun to see but the sunsets in Addo were to die for. And then after the sunsets the stars here are so bright. It is weird to see different stars in the Southern Hemisphere. All in all, I loved Addo National Park.

After Addo we went to Tsitsikamma National Park. This was my favorite park of them all. We were in cabins right on the Indian Ocean. This was also rocky coast land and the waves were constantly crashing up against the rocks making huge splashes! We saw beautiful sunsets here also and got to hike to a suspension bridge, a zip line tour, and a big waterfall. Words cannot describe to you the beauty there is in South Africa.

I want to end this post saying that I just jumped off the highest bungy jump in the world! It is called Bloukrans bridge and was the coolest thing I have ever done! I have pictures and cannot wait to show everyone. It was life changing!
